Storm Spotter Season Begins

The storm spotter season began yesterday evening with a nice series of thunderstorms that moved across western Wisconsin. We were under severe thunderstorm warnings until about 7:30pm. But all we got out of the storms were a little bit of rain and wind. However, just 3 miles away there was pea to 1/4″ inch hail and 40 mph wind.

I just stood in the yard and watched as the thunderstorms developed to the west and was rewarded with an impressive wall cloud that moved by just south. Even though the wall cloud had no rotation, I did call it in to the National Weather Service.
