I stepped outside to do chores just after sunset yesterday and saw something worth sharing.
Low in the western sky, above our hay field, was a thin crescent Moon, and just off to the south was Venus. I didn’t plan it. I just happened to be outside at the right time.

What I Was Looking At
This kind of setup is called a conjunction. It means the Moon and a planet (or star) appear close together from down here on Earth. They’re not actually near each other—just lined up that way from this angle.
Just One of Those Evenings
Most evenings follow the same routine—chores, feeding, watering. Last night just happened to line up a little different.
The Moon and Venus, riding high, side by side, over Otter Creek.
Nothing complicated about it. Just something I was glad I was there to see.
